La moiteur de la forêt tropicale, l’hostilité de la mangrove ne lui convenaient finalement pas. Alors, il a quitté son environnement naturel pour la quiétude d’un plan d’eau douce. Sans besoin perpétuel de batailler pour affirmer son territoire, le Tigre a trouvé là l’endroit idéal pour ses récits instrumentaux. Pour raconter ces voyages qui l’ont fait passer de l’Asie à l’Afrique, des salons soul-jazz aux rues asphaltées du hip hop, et qui ont transformé ses rayures en portées où se sont inscrites des gammes Thaïlandaises et des arrangements ethio-jazz.
Ces périples, le félin les raconte en quatuor, les pas du superprédateur inspirés par le saxophone ténor de Laurent Bardainne, leader dresseur dans l’instrument duquel se reflètent les grandes figures du free jazz. Sans éclaboussures, basse et batterie dessinent à la surface de l’eau des cercles concentriques, autant de réactions au groove, quand l’orgue Hammond souffle au-dessus de l’onde comme le porteur des déplacements mélodiques et solistes. Le regard fixé dans une esthétique analogique et live, Laurent Bardainne et Tigre D’Eau Douce gravent à coups de griffes trois premiers morceaux sur le label Heavenly Sweetness.
Août qui déploie une mélodie à la fois envoûtante et puissante interprétée par un quatuor semblant jouer comme un orchestre entier. Le mélancolique Marvin, hommage au soulman émancipé de la Motown dont le visage se réfléchit dans le pavillon cuivré. Porsche 944 road trip urbain dans une allemande mythique, l’autoradio calé sur une fréquence émise par le Wu Tang depuis Staten Island. Le moteur rythmique gonflé par le remix de Dj Moar, elle devient une rutilante cylindrée hip hop avec, au volant, Emcee G Roc Gayle.
Quatre titres qui ne sont qu’une première attaque féline avant l’album.

The sweat of the rainforest, the hostility of the mangrove did not suit him in the end. So he left his natural environment for the tranquility of a freshwater lake. Without the constant need to battle to assert its territory, the Tiger found there the ideal place for its instrumental stories. To tell the story of those journeys that took him from Asia to Africa, from soul jazz salons to the concrete streets of hip hop, and transformed his stripes into music sheets where Thai ranges and ethio-jazz arrangements were registered.
